Accident Man: Hitman’s Holiday Review

[table id=44 /]

Starring Scott Adkins, Ray Stevenson and Perry Benson. Based on the comic. Accident Man: Hitman’s Holiday picks up where the last one ended with Mike Fallon as a hitman who assassinates people and makes it look like an accident. He now finds himself protecting a kingpin’s son rather than assassinating them

Scott Adkins returns to one of his favourite roles and one he was born to play as Mike Fallon A contract killer who makes all his assassinations look like tragic accidents. Although in real life it wouldn’t take the police long to realise these accidents were rigged.

The movie starts with Fallon narrating the movie which he does throughout. He’s been going about his business as a contract killer now living in Malta since he burnt all his bridges and killed most of his hitmen friends in the 1st movie.

While out on a contract he spots an old friend Finicky Fred (Perry Benson) who’s just been kicked out of a club and is now getting roughed up. Also being a contract killer and one that specialises in gadgets, he has a flame thrower in his sleeve which he puts to good use. Fallon steps in, takes out the other doorman and gives Fred a place to stay for the night. They bond and decide to team up with Fallon using Fred’s gadgets to create some hilarious and over-the-top kills. We see them testing out the killer devices in their new headquarters much like Q from James Bond.

Fallon and Siu-ling

We are also introduced to Wong Siu-ling (Sarah Chang) a skilled martial artist Fallon encountered beating up patrons in a bar. He employs her to improve his fighting skills. How does he do this? For anyone that’s seen Peter Sellers the Pink Panther with his servant Kato attacking Clouseau at every opportunity will understand. She will constantly turn up to give Fallon a beating. Could be once a week, once a day, or twice a day.

When a botch hit made to look like an accident fails to kill a notorious kingpin’s (Mrs Zuuzer) son Dante Zuuzer played hilariously by George Fouracres. Fallon and Fred are kidnapped and accused of the hit. Proving their innocents, Mrs Zuuzer gives Fallon an ultimatum. Find who wants her son dead and protect him or Fred dies. Not wanting his new best mate killed Fallon agrees. Afterwards, he bumps into his old boss and father figure who he ruined in the first movie Big Ray (Ray Stevenson) Ray informs Fallon that a huge hit is out on Dante and the 6 best contract killers are out for him including Ray.

Ray Stevenson as Big Ray

So now it’s up to Fallon to reluctantly protect Dante as he can’t stand him from the contract killers to save Fred.

This is where the fun starts as the killers are all uniquely crazy. We have a master ninja, a GI Jane hard-as-nails girl. A crazy voodoo vampire guy and best of all. An out-of-his-mind killer clown called Poco who can’t feel pain.

Dante stupidly swallowed a tracking device out of spite so throughout fighting off crazy assassins. Fallon is also force-feeding Dante laxatives to make him pass the device.

Anyone that’s seen Scott Adkins movies knows what type of fight scenes to expect. Well-choreographed and executed fight scenes especially with Oyumi the Ninja. They all seem a bit more brutal in Accident man 2 though. Poco the clown kind of steals the show though. As he can’t feel pain, no matter how much punishment Fallon deals out, he just keeps coming all the while cracking jokes in the middle with his giant hammer.

Poco The Killer Clown

In conclusion. Accident man 2: Hitman Holiday is equally as good and entertaining as the first movie. The humour clicks much more in this one. Atkins relishes playing the part of Mike Fallon as he also co-wrote the story. I can see them making more Accident man movies in the future. Keep an eye out for Scott Adkins in the upcoming John Wick: Chapter 4.

Accident Man: Hitman’s Holiday is available to rent or buy on Amazon Prime Video now.

Rating 3.5/5 belts
