Warrior

Although I am still yet to watch season 2. It was great news to hear Warrior has been renewed for a 3rd season and even moved to one of the big boys HBO max. This will be great exposure for the series and the talented cast.

I reviewed the 1st season of Warrior a while back and I loved it. Based on the writings of Bruce Lee and executive produced by his daughter Shannon Lee.

Warrior is an action-packed, violent crime drama. It tells the story of Ah Sahm (Andrew Koji) fresh off the boat from China arriving in America in 1878 San Francisco who were importing Chinese immigrants as cheap labour. Being a very skilled fighter, he quickly gets noticed and drawn into the underworld of rival Chinese gangs, The Hatchets and the Tongs. Sahm originally reason for coming to America was to find his sister who as fate would have it happens to run the rival gang of Sahms.

Both the first two seasons are now available for streaming on HBO max to be discovered by a whole new legion of fans. Shannon Lee announced on Instagram recently the renewal for season three but a date has not yet been set.

Shannon Lee told Variety: Justin, Jonathan, and I were thrilled when Warrior was put on HBO platforms to be discovered by a whole new legion of fans. Now we are excited and grateful for the opportunity to do another season, and we applaud HBO Max for understanding the importance of telling this story and for continuing to support this level of representation in our industry. I just know that my father is grinning right now to see this show he dreamed of so long ago continuing to beat the odds. We have every intention of delivering the same high level of meaningful storytelling and Gung Fu action in season three!
