Dynasty Warriors Live Action Trailer

[table id=30 /]

For those who don’t know and if you don’t you have been missing out. Dynasty Warriors was a multi-format console game based on the Romance of the Three Kingdom novels. In turn, the novels are loosely based on real events, part fiction, part non-fiction, part myth and legend.

I like to believe all the characters depicted were real and all legendary fighters in their own right.

In the game, you get to choose between a number of heroes from each opposing army. Depending on which character you choose you follow the story of that character and army.

The game was full of action, fighting hundreds of enemies at once with completely over the top moves and attacks, sending enemies flying through the air. All to some rocking power metal backing music. You had legendary heroes such as Guan Yu, Lu Bu, Cao Cao and Sun Jian.

This wouldn’t be the first live-action based on Dynasty warriors or Romance of the three kingdoms. You have Three Kingdoms: Resurrection of the Dragon, Red Cliff and of course The Lost Blades Man with Donnie Yen. All were much more serious affairs though with no fantasy element like the games.

The Live action of Dynasty Warriors looks like it’s exactly like the games with completely over the top moves and action pieces.

Starring Louis Koo (Paradox) as Lu Bu, Han Geng (Transformers: Age of Extinction) as Guan Yu, Wang Kai (A Better Tomorrow 2018) as Cao Cao, Gulnazar (City of Rock) as Diao Chan, Tony Yang (Cold War 2) as Liu Bei,  Carina Lau (Young Detective Dee: Rise of the Sea Dragon) as Master of the Sword Forge Castle and Ray Lui (Flashpoint) as Yuan Shao.

Dynasty Warriors is available on Netflix now. Expect a review soon.
