New Martial Arts horrors, Rampant and Monstrum

[table id=3 /]

A few weeks back I made a short list of martial arts horror movies worth a watch. Well, this week I discovered some new horror coming out later this year which both look epic. Rampant and Monstrum. New Korean Martial arts horrors.

With the success of the awesome Train to Busan (which recently announced a sequel is in the works), the Koreans are killing it at the horror genre lately, Rampant also known as Outbreak and Monstrum are no exceptions.

Rampant plot.

A darkness looms over ancient Korea: murderous creatures known as Night Demons have overrun the country. Returning from a long imprisonment abroad, Prince Lee Chung one of the greatest warriors in the kingdom discovers that it will take the strength of his entire kingdom to stop the bloody rampage spreading across the nation.

Looking at the trailer linked below it looks pretty epic. Then we have Monstrum.

It’s the 22nd year of Jungjong. The plague has taken over Joseon, and fear runs rampant in the streets. When rumors of a vicious beast roaming Mount Inwangsan – called “Monstrum” by the terrified masses – begin to spread, fear turns into panic. In order to quell the rising panic, Jungjong brings back his most trusted general, Yoon-gyeom from retirement. Joined by his daughter Myeong, his right-hand man Seong-Han, and royal court officer Heo, Yoon-gyeom sets out to find the mysterious creature.

There really isn’t much information on IMDB or Wikipedia about these two at the minute and this was really all I could find but hey the trailers look epic and that’s all I need.
